Insert, plug, screw – done. Whether with or without glue. Once inserted, the two Knapp connectors FIYU LOCK AND FIYU FAST hold securely and stably from the first moment – in the cabinet, in the shelf, in the panel, and much more. Their secret lies in the cutting edge, which fixes the connectors during insertion. The required groove for installation can be pre-milled with both CNC and doweling machines. The two Knapp connectors connect cabinet parts at an angle from 0 to 135°. FIYU® FAST is also a self-locking furniture connector that can securely and reversibly connect miter joints and 90° joints.
- FIYU FAST Connector for 14mm Groove
The FIYU FAST based on tongue-and-groove can be permanently or reversibly fixed, connecting panels, coverings, profiles, as well as cabinet parts of cabinets, dressers, and more securely and firmly. Simply insert the two halves of the two-part connector with the integrated cutting edge into the pre-milled cabinet parts or panels. Connect them, trigger the self-locking mechanism, and it's done. The connection is immediately load-bearing. If the FIYU FAST is additionally glued, an irreversible invisible connection is created. If it is secured with a Euro screw, the connection can be detached at any time. The self-fixing FIYU FAST is load-bearing in two directions. Moreover, it can be used not only for 90° joints but also securely connects miter joints from 45° onwards. It is suitable for all softwood and plastic materials with a thickness of 16 mm for the 14mm groove.
- FIYU LOCK Connector for 4 and 14mm Groove
The success of the one-piece connector FIYU LOCK lies in the two differently strong halves of the spring lamella. Due to its half-step shape, the plug part can be easily inserted into a 3.6 to 4 mm groove. The internal cutting edge cuts into the material on its own – thus, it sits securely and stably from the beginning. Additionally, the FIYU LOCK can be fixed with a FIYU LOCK tension screw M5 through a few turns. This transforms it, for example, into a shelf support for shelves or a guiding aid. Alternatively, the spring lamella is also an ideal solution for retrofitting shelves or allowing a more flexible assembly sequence of the cabinet. All that is needed is a borehole in the element to be installed.
The two-part FIYU LOCK is suitable as a tongue-and-groove connector for a compact and precise guidance, as well as for the 14mm groove.
- FAST Connector for 4mm Groove
The FAST is the originator of dismountable connectors. It requires no clamps or presses during assembly.
The plastic connector is simply hammered into the 4mm groove and is suitable for all types of plug connections, especially where construction or space constraints do not allow the usual sliding connection, or for very easy self-assembly of prefabricated parts by the customer.
The patented cutting edges cut into the material when the connector is hammered in and securely hold the connector in the groove. Assembly is done by simply plugging together – the hook tabs click into the counterpart with a noticeable click.
This connector can be immediately loaded. The workpieces remain dismountable unless they have been permanently glued.
